Happy Thanksgiving

Once again the holiday season is upon us.  Tomorrow most of us will be thankful for all the blessings in our lives, visit with family and friends, and indulge ourselves with a lot of good food.    I have never been the type of fitness professional to have a totally clean diet, with very little fats or carbs.  While I may eat healthier than most people, I do love sweets (especially chocolate!) and drink more caffeine than I should.  Eating healthy is not a natural response for me, I have to work at it everyday.  However, during the holidays I work extra hard at my healthy eating habits.  It is so easy to get caught up in all the holiday festivities, that most people never realize how many extra calories they consume until January when they can’t get their pants on!  My mantra is “Be good to your body.”  Everytime I have the urge to indulge in something I know I shouldn’t, I just tell myself “Be good to your body.”  It keeps me focused on the now and reminds me to be thankful for my health and to treat my body with care.  Try it, it works!  Happy Thanksgiving!
