Experts: Sitting too much could be deadly
Not surprisingly, preliminary studies are showing that people who sit for many hours a day are more likely to die younger from health complications. It doesn’t seem to matter if your sitting involves work, driving, or school or whether you exercise regularly. After sitting for prolonged periods of time, the body stops sending signals regarding glucose and fat metabolism. This information gives us one more reason to exercise throughout the day, whether it be taking the stairs instead of the elevator or going out for walks during breaks.
