Action for Healthy Kids
Action for Healthy Kids is a non-profit network, established in 2002, to work with schools in fighting childhood obesity and undernourishment. Utilizing their 11,000 members (which consists of professionals, parents, educators, community volunteers, business leaders, and students) , they are able to provide expertise, programs, and resources nationwide.
During the 2008-09 school year, Action for Healthy Kids reached nearly 4 million kids in 8,000 schools. Their goal by 2012- to work with 25,000 schools and 10 million children to help them learn healthy eating habits and how to be active everyday.
